On February 10th I posted this on the Hebrew Catholic discussion board about a talk I listened to by Rabbi Ginsburg based on Genesis 32 about the 'Dawn breaking'. In the talk Rabbi Ginsburgh links his discussion to the Heavenly Rachel. Today I read a wonderful article in "Missio Immaculatae International" magazine entitled "Mary Mystical Dawn" where Father Manelli links this same passage in Genesis with Our Lady as the Mystical Dawn (a title also used for devotion to Mary as a child 'Mystical Dawn, Gate of Heaven"). He quotes L. Bartoli in "Marian Symbolism" " This nocturnal struggle...can symbolise the gloomy period caused by original sin that preceded the birth of the Coredemptrix, Who,as the Mother of God, the Prince of Peace, brought an end to the harsh struggle of mankind with its Creator...". Father Manelli goes on to say-"Mary is that mystical dawn that heralds the arrival of Christ as the Sun of Justice, as the Byzantine Liturgy says, addressing Mary:'Hail, Splendid Dawn Who alone bore the Sun Who is Christ, the Tabernacle of light; hail, Thou who scattered the darkness and conquered forever the demons of gloom.' Father Manelli also quoted the Song of Songs 6:10 in regard to Mary as the Mystical Dawn. "Who is this who breaks forth like the dawn, beautiful as the moon, radiant as the sun, terrible as an army in battle array". This verse I (Athol) believe is directly linked to the Woman Clothed in the Sun in Apocalypse 12. The article also quotes John Paul the Great at the 15th World Youth Day."Mary is the Dawn that precedes the rising of the Sun of Justice, Christ our Redeemer. With her 'yes' at the Annunciation, in complete openess to the Father's plan, she received and made possible the Incarnation of the Son....In the life of the church she continues to be mystically the One who preceeds the coming of the Lord." (June 1999)
I think this for me deepens what Rabbi Ginsburgh and the Jewish tradition teaches about this verse in Genesis 32. The Attribute of Divine Compassion and Beauty is linked to the Heavenly Jacob and is symbolised by the sun in the Jewish Mystical Tradition. St Louis de Montfort foretold that this Mystical Dawn would be the prophetess of the coming Marian Age that would prepare for the Eucharistic Reign of the Messiah Jesus.
The woman who is Mary is revealed as heavenly Ark of the Covenant and Mystical Dawn in Apoclayse 11 and 12 where the sun that clothes her are the Divine Attributes who is her Son (in the writing of great Catholic mystic Luisa Piccarreta the Divine Will is the source of all the Attributes and is symbolised by the sun) and she perfectly reflects them as a beautiful Moon or Mirror. St Louis de Monfort calls Mary the Mirror of the Tree of Life. This Moon is the Heavenly Rachel (who is Our Lady in Eternity and the earthly Rachel was a type of her) as revealed in the dream or vision of Joseph of his parents as the Sun and the Moon.
This Heavenly Rachel is Our Lady as Mother of the Church (Kneset Yisrael), and as Sabbath Queen as Sister-Spouse of the Holy Spirit. She is that Mystical Dawn preparing the World for the Ingrafting of the Jewish people as the ultimate Lady of Zion which will lead to the glorious appearing of the Messiah to usher in the Eucharistic Reign of Jesus when the Divine Will will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. On the way to this, Mary, as Mystical Dawn and Spouse of the Spirit will bring a New Pentecost to touch the hearts of all.
This Divine Sun who is the Tabernacle of Light will blaze forth from every tabernacle in every Church to renew the Heavens and the Earth. That Light is Hidden in the Hosts in all the tabernacles now but one day soon the Light will blaze forth as it did from Jesus in the Transfiguration. The Zohar also speaks of a manifestation of the Messiah in glorious Light in the land of Galilee in the Year 66. (This is the year 5766) It speaks of a glory cloud like that which led the Israelites in the widerness appearing for 40 days in the Galilee. Below is what I shared with the group about Rabbi Ginsburghs talk. See if you can see the significances that I see or have I just done too much Adoration.
"Last night I listen to a talk by Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburgh on Messianic Consciousness. He started talking about the story of Jacob wrestling the Angel of the Lord in Genesis. He stated that the Angel was the Archangel of Esau. It was all about how Jacob and Esau needed to be reconciled as brothers. He stated that the Lubavitch Rebbe said that at that time Esau wasn't ready but that now Esau (the Western Christian culture or nations) is now ready to bring forth this Messianic consciousness with Jacob. Jacob after 20 years Exile returns home to Israel from the Exile of Laban. This alludes to the Jewish Exile of nearly 2000 years and its recent return to Israel. In this exile the most important thing was to preserve Jewish Identity with a focus on the 613 mitzvot. Ginsburgh explained how the patriarchs kept the mitzvot on a spiritual plane or level. Jacob is now coming home to redemption so that they can redeem the World. Jacob now has a new goal in Israel which is to redeem the World, and in order to do this he must make peace with Esau.This new level is the dawn of consciousness which will result in this wrestling or embracing of Jacob and Esau. Now Israel's inheritance must serve a universal mission of world redemption which is called "building or constructing the figure Rachel" by living a Jewish life in a natural way which is connected with Messianic consciousness in order to achieve a level of peace with Esau. This is called Unification of Jacob and Esau that brings the Dawn of consciousness living Torah in a Natural Way which leads to the next stage of Messianic consciousness or Awareness. Returning to the Land of Israel is first but next will come the Messianic Consciousness. He then talks about how Adam represents the West wall of this spiritual Temple, Abraham the south, Isaac the North and Jacob the East and Moses is the roof of the spiritual Temple and the Messiah stands on the roof to proclaim that redemption is nigh.
Jacob and Esau were already wrestling from the beginning in the womb of their mother but the fruit of this wrestling of Jacob (Israel)and Esau (the Christian nations) will produce a spectrum of spiritual lights and insights called the Dawn of Messianic
Consciousness. This natural consciousness that leads to Messianic consciousness is lowliness (shiflut) which is associated with the soul of David. He also spoke about the word for wrestling being connected with dust and light and how this dust or light of the wrestling rose all the way up to God's throne of Glory(the place of
the Jewish soul)where a portrait of Jacob adorns the Throne. He spoke of those who are Baal Teshuvahs who by their return to God with Love transforms their transgressions into lights or mitzvot of light. Every Jewish soul is like a candle but the Baal Teshuvah is like a Blazing Torch. Even a Tzadik is a candle but when Jacob wrestles the Archangel of Esau, then Jacob becomes a Torch.
I was amazed to hear this as it seems to confirm that Jacob Frank's insight about Jacob and Esau were an authentic part of Jewish Mystical understanding. Isn't it interesting that the spiritual Temple is associated with the mystical figure of Rachel (also called Kneset Yisrael) and the Catholic Church considers Rachel to
represent the Church (the Universal Kneset)and Mary as Mother of the Church..."

A High History of the Holy Grail
A Hidden History
This book outlines the hidden Jewish Christian (Hebrew Catholic) history of ancient Scotland, Britain, Ireland, France and Iraq. This book recounts the story of one dynastic family – the Davidic House of Nathan- who came to reign over the nations of Europe. This Jewish dynasty was established by Mar Joseph of Babylon in Britain in the 2nd century BC. It was Mar Joseph’s descendant also called Mar Joseph (of Arimathea) that brought the Jewish Christian message of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration to Britain in the 1st century AD. From the time of Mar Joseph of Arimathea this Davidic dynasty is connected with deep Eucharistic mysticism centred on the Holy Grail. It is Joseph and his descendants that maintained Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in the far isles of the West. It is his descendants that also established this practice in Iraq in the 2nd century AD among the Jewish Christians (Notzrim) and in a hidden and veiled form among the Jewish communities. This is truly a ‘High History of the Holy Grail’.
Band of Eucharistic Adorers
The idea of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration and a band or court of Eucharistic Adorers goes right back to the Blessed Virgin Mary (Miriam haKadosha) and the Cenacle of Jerusalem. The Catholic mystics and saints reveal that Mary spent her time in the Cenacle in Eucharistic Adoration. Later in her house in Ephesus, according to the revelations of the Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich, Mary also spent time in Eucharistic Adoration. She gathered the women of her household into a band of Eucharistic Adorers – they were later called the ladies of the Grail. Mary also taught the 12 Apostles this practice. This deep mystery of the Eucharist was only revealed to the mature Jewish Christians at first as the Apostles believed the that the Gentile believers and new Christians were not ready to appreciate this deep Eucharistic devotion and could misunderstand it and turn it into pagan or Gnostic uses. In fact during the first three centuries of the Christian era everything concerning the Eucharist was guarded as a precious secret. The mysteries of Mary’s life were also protected in the early stage of the spread of the Gospel. The early Jewish Christians were afraid that the Gentiles in their immaturity in the faith could turn Mary into a pagan Goddess figure if her full glories were revealed too early.
St Peter Julian Eymard reveals that Mary is the apostle of the Eucharist:
“In the Cenacle, Mary devoted herself entirely to the Eucharistic glory of Jesus. She knew that the wish of the Heavenly Father was to see his Divine Son known, loved and served by all; that it was a need for the Heart of Jesus to communicate to men all its gifts of grace and glory… Mary’s one desire was then to glorify Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, to make him known, loved and served by all…. Moreover, on Calvary, men had become her children; she loved them with the tenderness of a Mother, and wanted their sovereign good as much as her own. That is why she was so eager to make Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament known by all, to enkindle all hearts with His love, to see them all bound and chained at his loving service, to group them into a Eucharistic Guard of Honour, a court of faithful and devoted adorers… The adorers share Mary’s mission of prayer in the Presence of the Most Blessed Sacrament…”
The Western Isles
St Joseph of Arimathea and St Simon ha Kanah (Zelotes) were to establish the Eucharistic Guard of Honour in the Western Isles of Britain. Joseph and Simon’s descendants the Fisher Kings maintained this Eucharistic Court of Adorers firstly in the small wattle church of on the Glas Isle (Glastonbury) and later at the Grail castles, including the one on the Isle of Man and the one on the Isle of Lundy. Mar Joseph of Arimathea’s son Red Nathan took this devotion to ancient Ireland where it was practiced for 3 or 4 generations until the revival and triumph of Druidic Paganism in the time of Conn of the Hundred Battles. Red Nathan’s son called Brother Phares took this devotion to Scotland where he established a Eucharistic Court at Camulon (Camulod).
In the East
Brother Phares entrusted this Eucharistic mission to his son Nathaniel I and with his other children he went to Babylonia to establish a Eucharistic Yeshivah (Learning College or Academy) at Kinyani in southern Iraq. He also took his brother Adon Zerah’s two sons Simeon and Nathan from Ireland with him to Babylonia to study at the Kinyani Eucharistic Academy. St Simon ha Kanah’s grandson Yair ha Kanah was one of the main teachers at this Yeshivah along with Brother Phares’s son Phineas (Fennius Farsa).
Brother Phares established this Yeshivah with St Simon ha Kanah’s son Rabbi Nehunia ben Ha Kanah. Rabbi Nehunia was a secret Eucharistic Adorer among the Rabbinic Jews in Israel. His Eucharistic school in Israel was called the Emmaus School which linked it to the account of the Breaking of the Bread on the way to Emmaus. The Jewish mystical book ‘Bahir’ has its origins in this school of Emmaus founded by R. Nehunia ben Ha Kanah. The Cleopas of the Emmaus account was an uncle of St Simon ha Kanah and the light called ‘Bahir’ is the light associated with mystic vision and the Resurrection, which Jesus revealed at the Breaking of the Bread on the Way to Emmaus. If one wishes to walk on the Way to Emmaus with Jesus, one must perceive Him in the Breaking of the Bread (Eucharist) and adore his Divine Presence.
Later on in the 2nd century AD this Davidic Family descended from St Joseph of Arimathea, St Simon Ha Kanah and St Nathaniel Bar Tolmai (Bartholomew) were to re-establish the Babylonian Exilarchy under the two brothers Hunia I (Huna) and Nathan Mar Ukba I sons of Nehunia (Noenius) the Rosh Galuta (Exilarch) of Scotia (Scotland). For the next few centuries the Exilarch families of Babylon and Scotland were to be closely linked. Hunia I was succeeded as Exilarch of Babylon by his brother Nathan Mar Ukba I when Hunia went to France to succeed his brother Farabert as King of the Franks. Their mother Basilda was a Frankish Princess, the daughter of Marcomer IV of Franks by his British wife Athildis also a descendant of St Joseph of Arimathea.
This work draws on the Irish, Welsh, Scottish, French and Jewish traditions, genealogies, histories, legends and Romances. The medieval Romances of Arthur and the Holy Grail came forth firstly in Southern France from the same region as the Romances about the Jewish Princes Aimeri de Narbonne (Machir Theodoric ben Judah) and Guillame d’Orange (Nathan Kalonymus). These Romances were spread by the troubadours of Provence and Aquitaine. The troubadours of Provence seemed to have access to a rich tradition preserved by the royal descendants of Machir Theodoric of Narbonne, the son of Judah Zakkai ben Ahunai the Babylonian Exilarch also identified with Eudes of Aquitaine. It was from this same source that the ‘Bahir’ and the teaching of Rabbi Nehunia ben ha Kanah came forth around the same time amongst the Jewish descendants of Machir (Amorai/ Aimeri).
It is obvious that the compiler of the Irish work ‘Leabhar Gabhala’ had access to a History of this family in Scotia that he used in his compilation and reconstruction of Irish history. When the student of history and mysticism has the key to history which is the key of David (Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament), one can examine the ancient sources and reconstruct the veiled and hidden history of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration as practiced by the Royal House of King David descended from the Holy Family of Jesus. This hidden or secret history is Eucharistic and Marian – revealing the secret (mystery) of the Eucharist and Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.
St Peter Julian Eymard
St Peter Julian Eymard was one saint that seemed to have access to knowledge about this key of David and its importance for the future.
“Today more than ever we need men who by self-immolation disarm the wrath of God angered by the ever- increasing crimes of the nations; we need souls who by their earnest prayers reopen the treasures of grace which had been closed by general indifference; we need true adorers, that is, men of fire and of sacrifice. When their numbers multiply around their divine Leader, God will be glorified, Jesus will be loved, and society will again become Christian, won to Jesus Christ by the apostolate of Eucharistic prayer.”
Knights and Ladies of the Holy Grail
This will be the time of the Eucharistic Era of Peace promised by Our Lady at Fatima. Today we need a revival of the Eucharistic spirit of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Grail who seek Divine Union with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. We need Eucharistic wounded Healers and victim souls as modern Fisher Kings to adore Jesus and intercede for a troubled world. Our Lady is once again gathering and leading Eucharistic Guards of Honour, with Courts (chapels/temples) of faithful Eucharistic Adorers. As children we thrilled to the tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Holy Grail. As adults, let us go deeper into Eucharistic meaning of these Romances. Let us develop our own Romance with the Lover of our souls who is so abandoned in his prison of love in all the locked churches of the world. Let us open the doors of our hearts to adore the Divine Eucharistic Heart that beats with Divine Love and Mercy for us. Let us don our spiritual armour like the Knights of Old and start on the Quest for the Holy Grail. Adoration is the key to Interior Grail Castle. Every male adorer is a Knight of the Holy Grail riding the white horse of spiritual power – the fire of God’s love. Every female adorer is a Queen of the Grail Castle and a Lady of the lake, the Lake of God’s mercy. As she adores she bathes in the Lake of Mercy and with each Holy Hour becomes more and more beautiful and glorious in her inner soul, until she is radiantly dressed like Our Lady with the garments and tiaras of the Divine King.
In the Beginning
The Jewish mystical book the ‘Bahir’ had its genesis in the teachings of Rabbi Nehunia ben Ha Kanah’s mystical school of Emmaus. The ‘Bahir’ seeks to explain the mysteries of the Divine Presence or Shekinah. Bahir means Brilliant Light and is one of the lights of Mystical vision and prophecy. The School of Emmaus was a school of visionary mystics who delved in to the Divine Mysteries through Adoration and Meditation on the inner spiritual meaning of the Scriptures while in the Presence of the Eucharistic King. The Scriptures are seen by these mystics as a book of revelation of the Divine Presence in history. The key to Biblical understanding and knowledge is concept of the Divine Presence. The Bible’s stories are the outward veil of the deep mysteries of the Shekinah (Divine Presence).
Ray of Light
The ‘Bahir’ teaches that when God began creation he first created a space for the Creation – in some sense he restricted his Infinite Light. Then he created the Universe in this space (tzimtzum) by sending a ray of his Light into the Creation. This Ray of Light is the Divine Presence which is Beginning (Reshit in Hebrew) of all Creation. This Ray of Light is also in the ‘Bahir’ called the Filling, the Divine Glory, Divine Wisdom and Divine Blessing. This light is the light of Bahir the Isparklaria (the Shining Crystal) that reflects the Divine Light that can be perceived by the prophets and mystics. The ‘Bahir’ also speaks of the 32 paths of Divine Wisdom that created the Universe. These 32 paths are called the Divine Heart. Bahir 10 reveals that the concept of the Two Hearts – the Divine Heart and the Mother’s Heart – were the hidden (concealed) blueprint for the Creation of the World. The Mother’s Heart is the vessel that receives the Wisdom of the Divine Heart. The Universe is the Mother’s (Imma = mother) womb that the point of Wisdom (or Ray of Light) enters and begins to expand and grow into the Creation. The mystery of the Incarnation was in the mind of the Divinity from all eternity and it was the model He used for the Creation and for the Incarnation of the Son in the womb of Mary.
The Family of Love
The three persons (lights) of the Godhead are the Divine Family of Love. Love is always creative and God desired to expand his love. The Father wished to provide his Son with many brothers and sisters by adoption. So in love he began the process of Creation – to prepare a large family of love for his Son. The Son is the visible manifestation of the hidden deity. The Son is God revealed in his Divine Attributes – which is called Adam Kadmon (Primordial Man). Through the Son as Divine Word and Wisdom, God created the Universe as an emanation of his Attributes. Man (Adam) was to be the fullest expression within Creation of the Divine Attributes- he was to be made in the image and likeness of the Primordial Adam. This Primordial Adam is God himself revealed in His Attributes.
Adam and Eve in the Garden
The Divine Presence which is the Divine Heart prepared the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve. A garden in which, according to the Jewish book ‘3 Enoch’, the Divine Presence dwelt as a small perpetually burning flame. As the burning bush was an outward manifestation of the Divine Presence on Mt Sinai, so the Tree of Life was the outward manifestation of the Divine Presence in the Garden. The fruit of this tree were the Divine Attributes of God himself. St Louis de Montfort teaches us that Mary is this Mirror of the Divine Tree of Life. This is Mary’s Heart in Eternity which is united always with the Divine Heart of her Son.
The Two Trees
In the garden hidden under the appearance of a humble small flame was this Divine Tree of Life. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was not the tree of the intellectual understanding of Good and Evil but the tree of experiencing good and evil. The ‘Bahir’ reveals that this tree is Satan (Samael) himself and the fruit he offers is sexual experience (knowledge) of himself and his kingdom of evil that masquerades as goodness and beauty. In the garden are two spiritual gates or doors. The first gate is the Divine Presence called the Tree of Life and is the door to Eternal Life. The second gate is the portal or doorway to the realm of Death and Evil which seeks to imitate and mimic in a perverted way the gate to life. Eve, and Adam with her, had the choice of Life or Death and through the deception of Satan (the Serpent) masquerading as an angel of light and beauty, they chose the fruit of experiencing death and evil. Satan offered them a beautiful illusion but the illusion turned to ashes in their mouth. Eve worshipped Satan by receiving his fruit of sexual experience. Eve committed adultery with the Serpent and then she offered Adam the same experience. The Jewish legends of Lilith reveal that Satan then appeared to Adam under his feminine aspect known as Lilith. By choosing to walk through the portal of death – Adam and Eve lost the beautiful Garden of God’s Attributes. Adam and Eve were the Lords of Creation and the whole of Creation entered through this Gate of Death.
The Exile from Eden
The Jewish traditions also teach us that the Shekinah (Divine Presence) in His mercy went with Adam and Eve into exile from the Garden. Adam and Eve repented and the Divine Presence initiated the plan of salvation (Yeshuah). The curses of God were in reality the hidden blessinbgs of God to Adam and Eve. Adam and all men with him were required to work hard and cultivate wheat and vines. From the hard labour of man by sweat of his brow, he was to produce bread and wine. This bread and wine would in the fullness of time be transformed into the way of salvation for mankind and once more man would have the opportunity to receive and taste of the fruit of the Tree of Life. This fruit is the Divine Presence hidden under the form of bread and wine- the very symbols of man’s suffering. Eve and all women were to be given a curse that was a hidden blessing, to bear children in pain. St Paul declares that women are thus saved through their childbearing. It is the action of childbearing by the second Eve that Salvation will enter the world as God himself in the flesh. Mary is the famous Woman in travail prophesied in the Scriptures. Her pain or travail is not the physical birth of Jesus but the pain of her childbearing of her spiritual children at the foot of the Cross. God gives Adam and Eve hope and promises them this Woman and her Seed who would destroy the work that Satan had achieved through their fall (Genesis 3:15. The Divine Presence thus sets out on his plan to redeem the world by preparing a people and culture to receive him and his vessel – the Holy Mother Mary. The Holy Scriptures reveal and contain this wonderful plan of the Divine Heart. This is why in the CCC the Church calls the Scriptures the Heart of Jesus. The Bible reveals the Divine Presence’s interaction with man through the people of Israel preparing for the fulfilment of the promise of Genesis 3:15 – all the other covenants are a further clarification and fulfilment of this original Promise. The Promise is the Divine Presence himself who will take flesh as the Redeemer Yeshuah (Jesus). The Promise given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are a further step in the revelation of the original Promise made to Adam and Eve. All the covenants must be interpreted in the light of the original promise which is fully revealed and fulfilled in the New Covenant of the Eucharistic Sacrifice, which will lead to the ultimate salvation and redemption of mankind, Israel and the Universe from the curse of Satan.
