To be honest as a consecrated brother in a new community I am rather tired of those on both the right and left who spend a lot of energy putting down and criticising new communities and movements. Our community wears a habit so in the minds of some we are instantly branded as pre-Vatican II and traditionalists. This is far from the truth as we absolutely love Vatican II and the challenging teachings of Pope Francis who is a prophet of our times. At the same time we respect those Catholics who like Latin traditionalism as long as they are not anti-Jewish, anti the documents of Vatican II and they recognise the validity of the ordinary mass in the vernacular even if they prefer the extraordinary form. While appreciating the best of the past we believe God is each day saying "Behold I do a new thing".
We also support the wonderful work that some of the older orders do even if they don't wear a habit. We appreciate those religious without habits who have been lovely to us even though we do wear a habit. Other Catholics sadly have looked at us with hatred and disgust without even getting to know us just because we wear a habit. Yes we are orthodox Catholics and we adhere to the infallible teaching of the Magisterium but we are open to whatever the Church decides about married priests or communion for the divorce and remarried etc. Yes we are pro-life but we have great love and concern for those hurt by abortion and euthanasia but we also are wary of moralism and the judging of others rather than the sinful acts.
Some Catholics like the Latin Mass, some the charismatic, some Marian devotions, some social justice and helping the poor, some contemplative prayer etc. There is room for all in the Church and room for communities that support these charisms. Instead of worrying about what others who have different tastes to you are doing or not doing, find those you do like and get involved with those groups and let the others have the freedom to grow, develop and to make mistakes and learn from them under the gentle guidance of loving priests and Bishops. Don't be like some Gestapo interrogators or Grand Inquisitors looking to fault and criticise as one often encounters on the internet.
We are living in dark days and it is the insight of many spiritual people that Tasmania will become an isle of sanctity from which the light will go forth. It is to be a place in which new communities of the spirit flourish and under the present Archbishop we see the beginning flames of this beginning. Father Julian Tenison-Woods the co-founder of the Josephite sisters and the Sisters of Perpetul Adoration in 19th century Australia called Tasmania the Island of St Joseph. Father Julian served as a priest in the Huon Valley region. Has Father Julian sent his namesake Archbishop Julian for such a time as this? Our own community is also intensely Josephine and we call our place St Joseph's Hidden Place in St Joseph's Hidden Valley. We are praying to St Joseph for this great renewal in the Spirit for Tasmania, Australia and the world. Tasmania will truly be the spiritual heart of Australia.
We came to Tasmania at the prompting of the Holy Spirit and to pray for the new Archbishop. We were also led to a parish priest who has been truly the earthly embodiment of the Archangel Michael as a protector to us. In our parish at the end of the world (next stop Antarctica) we are good friends with the two communities of nuns in our parish one in habits (a new community) and one without (the older Sisters of St Joseph who are celebrating 120 years in our parish this year)-both groups are made up of wonderful woman of God.
Even our Protestant brothers in Christ are sensing this anointing on Tasmania. One Protestant prophetic message from Chris Hackett said.
"While in Melbourne as I was waiting on the Lord in prayer, He spoke the word, “Docklands,” to me. He then took me to the coastline of southwestern Victoria where we flew about a 100 feet above the shoreline. We followed a clockwise direction around the coast line of Australia. We flew above the shores of South Australia, WA, NT, QLD, NSW, then Victoria. As I got closer to the town of Mallacoota, I started to sense an intensity grow. When I researched into the history of Mallacoota I found out that a satellite airfield was constructed in this town during World War II for the purpose of coastal defense.
I crossed the Bass Straight where I felt and could see a whirlwind rushing around Tasmania. The whirlwind flow was anti-clockwise. The whirlwind went around Tasmania many times. There was an intensity building. There is a fire in Tasmania that is stirring. The mainland needs coals that will come out of the fires in Tasmania.
The first thing the Lord showed me, was how vast the borders of Australia are. He also said that we needed to set up a defense by speaking to the docklands and the coastlines and pray for His hedge of protection. As a country we have allowed all sorts of foreign gods and pollution into this nation. There has not been an adequate spiritual hedge. Now is the time to set watchmen up around this nation.
Then I saw angels stationed around the coastline facing outwards towards the sea as a line of defense. My impression was that as we prayed for the spiritual protection of the nation, He would raise up His host of warrior angels.
The direction I travelled was significant. The clockwise rotation we travelled over mainland Australia speaks of a low pressure weather system. The significance of an anticlockwise whirlwind over Tasmania denotes a high pressure system. As it is in the natural with the science of weather, high pressure air always flows to low pressure. Like a balloon being let go, the high pressure air in the balloon is released to the surrounding low pressure atmosphere. So it shall be with Tasmania. The high pressure presence of His Spirit will flow into the northern states of mainland Australia.
Tasmania is known by different slogans or nicknames such as, The Apple Isle, and the Island of Inspiration. It’s official motto is Ubertas et Fidelitas (Fertility and Faithfulness).
I believe Tasmania is an apple of the Lord’s eye, a spiritually fertile region, birthing ministries and great men and women of God who will bless the whole of Australia and bring the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. While for a long time, Tasmania has been overlooked or not held in the same regard as the northern states, a season is coming when God will use this island state to bring His fire to the nation."
"And to the angel of the church of Sardis, write: These things saith he, that hath the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast the name of being alive: and thou art dead. Be watchful and strengthen the things that remain, which are ready to die. For I find not thy works full before my God. Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe, and do penance. If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee. But thou hast a few names in Sardis, which have not defiled their garments: and they shall walk with me in white, because they are worthy. He that shall overcome, shall thus be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. "
