There are surface meanings to the verses of Scripture based often on translation choices of the scholars. However, there are deeper spiritual meanings hidden in the text in the original Hebrew. This is the case with Ezekiel 36:19-21 which reveals the location of the House of Israel (as distinct from the House of Judah) who are to be found in the isles of the Gentiles (Goyim) in Europe and in the countries of America.

I think there is a dangerous tendency for some Catholics to confuse the gospel and in fact Biblical concept, found in Judaism and Catholicism, of being awake and concerned about spiritual and social justice values with the cultural Marxists hijacking of the term 'woke' for their extremist social engineering agenda.
